Most new homes have wiring for networks available as part of CCS Stranded Wire
the modern and normal functionality and not as an extra component for making
the home worth more. Home networks are a standard part of the electrical
system.
A home should have data ports in every livable room in the
house. Bathrooms and pantries probably donÂ’t need data ports. A data port is
where you connect your computer patch cable so you can have Internet or access
to family networks.
Wireless networks are popular because they donÂ’t require all
the cable to each room, but most communications technicians like myself
strongly discourage the use of wireless networks due to lack of privacy and neighbors
stealing free Internet from you.
The cable we use in home networks is called Cat5 cable. It
has eight wires inside of different colors. We will need to find out which room
we want our main network hub to be in. I prefer to have a utility room with
access to a distribution panel or junction box for cable TV, phone systems,
home security, and home network systems all together.
Most home network hubs also have a router for Internet
access. Without the Internet, a network hub still gives all computers in the
home the option to be a part of the family network.
We will need to run Cat5 from the hub to each data port in
each room and secure the wires with staples onto the framing of the walls. The
data ports fit into regular electrical boxes used for outlets and light
switches. The Cat5 needs to terminate into an electrical box with about ten
inches of cable to spare.
Each data port will be wired according to a corresponding
color with the wires in the Cat5. These data ports are called Mod jacks and
they will be a punch down block that you insert the wires into and make a good
connection.
This mod jack will plug into an electric box and a wall
plate will fit over it so it looks like part of the wall.
The other end of the cable is where it connects to the
network hub. We will need to terminate this cable with an RJ-45 connector. This
is the connector that plugs into the network port on computers and data ports.
We need to have a special tool that presses all the wires in place inside the
connector.
We can gently scribe a ring around the Cat5 cable with a
utility knife to peel the plastic coating away from the wires about a half-inch
from the end. The wires will need to be in the exact order before we slide them
into the connector.
With the connector tab down, the wires need to start from
left to right as follows:
Brown\white, White\brown, Green\white, White\blue,
Blue\white, White\green, Orange\white,
White\orange
In this order, push the wires so they gently fill the slot
into the connector and then use the punch down tool to make a perfect seal. You
can buy a pair of inexpensive line testers to make sure that all the cable runs
are functional.
Put all wall plates on and connect the hub to the Internet
and to all the computers on the network.

Overview: The Tamerica Durawire
Combo is a high quality 3:1 pitch twin loop wire binding machine that
replaces the original Tamerica Durawire binding machine. This
heavy duty metal binding machine is designed for small and medium sized
organizations that are looking to bind their documents with wire-o,
double loop, double-o or twin loop wire. With heavy duty
metal construction and a great set of features, the Tamerica Durawire
is certainly a machine to consider when choosing a wire binding system
for your office.
Strengths / Features: The
Durawire Combo boasts CAT5E Cable metal construction that is actually
quite impressive. The entire body of the machine is made of steel
including the wire closer, wire holder, binding table and punching
mechanism. This should help to ensure that the Durawire will remain
strong and reliable for years when used normally. The Wire
Closer on this machine is heavy and built well. It has two heavy duty
metal adjustments to ensure that your spines are closed evenly every
time. The mechanism that operates the wire closer is also made of heavy
duty steel and shouldn't have problems with slipping over time.Unlike
the original Durawire, the Durawire combo has a wire hanger on the
front of the machine to make the process of adding the pages onto the
wire-o spines easier. This is an important feature and the design of
hanger on the Durawire-Combo is excellent. Unlike other machines that
use a clamping mechanism that can deform the wires, this machine uses a
series of hooks that allow the wires to keep their original shape. This
machine has an adjustable depth of punch margin control to allow you to
change the distance of the holes from the edge of the paper. It also
has preset disengageable dies. These dies make this machine compatible
with letter size, oversize, half letter and A4 sizes of paper.
Weaknesses / Limitations: The
Durawire combo has a punching capacity of 15 sheets of 20lb paper. For
binding a few small documents per day this should be adequate. However,
higher volume users will most likely find that this punching capacity
greatly reduces productivity during the binding process. Several
machines are available on the market in a similar price range to this
machine with larger punching capacities. This machine only
has a couple of disengageable dies and they have to be disengaged using
an allen key that is provided with the machine. Other similarly priced
machines on the market have fully disengageable dies and you don't have
to use a special tool to disengage them. The fact that not all of the
pins on this machine are disengageable means that it cannot be used to
bind legal sized and custom length documents. The
Durawire-Combo is a 3:1 pitch binding machine which means that it
punches 3 holes per inch. It is compatible with three to one pitch
wires, GBC Proclick spines and special 3:1 pitch spiral coil. However,
it cannot be used to bind thicker documents using double loop wire. The
largest size of wire that is compatible with this machine is 9/16"
which will hold approximately 125 sheets of 20lb paper. If you need to
bind documents larger than that, this machine might not be the best
choice.
Recommendation: The Tamerica
Durawire combo is built well, has a decent set of features and really
isn't too bad of a machine for light to moderate usage. It will bind
documents with wire, Proclick and 3:1 pitch coil and is great for
occasionally binding small sized documents. However, the lack
of fully disengageable dies, limited punching capacity and less than
stellar appearance of this machine put it at a disadvantage compared to
other machines on the market. In fact, the Tamerica TW3100 is
actually cheaper and has more features. With that in mind, it is hard
to recommend customers buy this machine over some of the other feature
rich machines that are available on the market.

Wire display racks are ideal fixtures for RG59 Cable
in any kind of store or business. The trick is to learn how you can choose the
wire rack thatÂ’s best for your storeÂ’s or businessÂ’s particular display needs. Below are three steps to help you do just that. 1. Determine the Location of Your Display When it comes to using wire racks for displays, you have
three location options: Your storeÂ’s floor, your storeÂ’s wall, and your storeÂ’s
countertop. Simply put, itÂ’s going to boil down to the kind of
merchandise you want to display and how much room you have in each area. Consider these examples:You
can use wire racks for wall displays to showcase small childrenÂ’s toys in
an area already dedicated to displaying childrenÂ’s toys. You
can use wire racks for floor displays to showcase travel-sized hygiene
items in an area already dedicated to display full-sized products. You
can use wire racks for countertop displays to show add-on merchandise such
as chewing gum, candy, soda, and convenience items like matchbooks,
lighters, and eyeglass repair kits. 2. Decide Whether You Want to Create Your Own Display Now that you know where you want to situate your wire
display rack, think about whether or not you have the time (or know-how) to
create your own display or whether itÂ’d be best to purchase a pre-filled
display rack. Pre-filled display racks are available for floor, wall, and
countertop displays and they are complete with plastic buckets filled with
everything from candy items to novelty toys. These display fixtures are great
for stores that are just getting started as well as those businesses that
generally stay too busy to create their own displays. These are also fantastic
solutions for stores that have experienced an isolate influx of customers, such
as during big sale events or the holiday seasons. Pre-filled display racks
allow stores to quickly order and set up merchandise displays so they can move
on to more pressing matters – like helping customers! If you’d rather start out with wire display racks pre-filled
with merchandise, thereÂ’s no need to move on to the third step. Simply shop
around for a distributor that offers these items. If youÂ’d rather create your own wire rack display, though,
itÂ’s time for the third step. 3. Consider Your Merchandise How you move forward with this step largely depends on where
your wire rack display is going to be located. If youÂ’ve opted to create a wall display with wire racks,
chances are the display rack will come complete with plastic buckets to hold
your merchandise. All youÂ’ll need to do is determine which merchandise will fit
best in those buckets. The same can be true for wire display racks designed for
floor and countertop displays. You can find these display racks complete with
plastic buckets for holding your merchandise and all youÂ’ll need to do is
determine which merchandise will best fit those buckets. However, if you plan to look for just the wire display
racks, youÂ’ll need to think about two things: The
kind of merchandise you plan to display. For example, if you plan to
display stand-alone items like bagged snacks or bottles or cases of soda,
youÂ’ll only need a rack sturdy enough and large enough to hold these
items. If, however, you want to display smaller items like childrenÂ’s toys
or bulk candies, youÂ’ll need to think about a sizeable enough rack as well
as additional display fixtures like plastic containers to hold the
merchandise. The size and weight of your merchandise. As mentioned above, as youÂ’re choosing your wire
display racks you must choose racks that are sturdy enough to support your
items. Bagged snacks like chips and trail mix donÂ’t tend to weigh much, but
cases or bottles of soda or water are heavy. When it comes to plastic containers
filled with merchandise, you need to think about the number of containers and
what they will be holding. A small wire countertop rack holding a handful of
containers might not need to be so sturdy, but a larger floor wire rack holding
many containers will need to be sturdier.

The Rhino Tuff HC-8024 is the only twenty four inch double loop wire closer
available on the market. However, the HC8024 is also a popular CAT5E Cable
choice for users who want to bind other large format sheet sizes. It
can easily be used to bind both 11" x 17", and A3 documents along the
long side of the sheets. It is ideal for binding large format books,
calendars, music scores, plans and blueprints.
Overview: The Rhino Tuff HC-8024 is the only twenty four inch double loop wire closer available on the market. It
was specifically designed for organizations that bind large format
calendars using twin loop wire and preformed calendar hangers. This is
the perfect solution for organizations that need to bind this type of
large format calendar. However, the HC8024 is also a popular
choice for users who want to bind other large format sheet sizes. It
can easily be used to bind both 11" x 17", and A3 documents along the
long side of the sheets. It is ideal for binding large format books,
calendars, music scores, plans and blueprints.Plus, it can be used to bind standard letter, legal and A4 sized documents too.
Strengths / Features:
The
Rhino Tuff HC-8024 is the only 24" double loop wire closer available on
the market. It is capable of closing double loop, twin loop, spiral-o,
WireBind and wire-o binding spines in any size up to 24 wide. This
machine has a special slide out document table on the front of the
machine. No other wire closer on the market has a document table like
this. The document table makes it much easier to deal with large format
books, calendars and music scores. The HC-8024 has two heavy
duty adjustment knobs to allow you to quickly and easily adjust the
closer for different sized wires. This machine has the ability to
handle wires as small as 3/16" and as large as 1-1/4" in diameter. It
doesn't matter whether the spines are 2:1 pitch, 3:1 pitch or are 19
loop wire combs. This closer works with them all.Like all of
the equipment from Rhin-O-Tuff, the HC8024 is made with heavy duty
steel components. Both the body and the mechanisms used by this machine
are made of metal. This makes it ideal for production environments. The
HC8024 is designed to bind documents every day for years without any
need for maintenance.
Weaknesses / Limitations:
In
order to ensure that the HC8024 closes the wires across an entire 24
inch length, the closer includes two handles. The two handle design is
important for the function of the machine. However, it makes this wire
closer more difficult to operate than other closers available on the
market. It requires both hands to operate which means you need to set
the wire in the closer so that it won't move while you are closing your
documents. This can be somewhat difficult. This machine is
capable of closing almost all of the sizes of wire that are available
on the market. However, it cannot be used with 1-1/2" wire binding
spines. This is not a common size of double loop wire. However, this is
still a limitation that should be noted.Even though the
closer is capable of handling twenty-four inch documents, you still
need to have twenty four inch wires. These are a special order item and
can get somewhat expensive. Some users choose to buy wire spools and
cut their own pieces. However, it is easy to ruin the wire spool if you
are not careful and it can be difficult to cut the wire off the spool
without causing it to become deformed.
Recommendation:
For
print shops, binderies and large organizations that may have the need
to bind larger format documents using twin loop wire, the HC8024 is a
necessity. This is the only commercially available wire
closer over fourteen inches. This makes The HC-8024 a logical choice
for users who need to bind large format documents. It works
great for binding musical scores, calendars, blueprints, plans and
other long items that are difficult to bind with any other type of
system.
